The Residence Life department at Carlow University is designed to contribute to the educational experience through the group living situation. Services, programs, and activities are planned and implemented in order to facilitate the intellectual, cultural, social, and ethical needs of our students.

Consistent with the philosophy of the Division of Student Affairs as a whole, the Residence Life department is developed in such a way as to augment the academic experience by helping to educate the whole person. The department functions in accordance with the following principles:

• Each student is a unique individual;
• The individual student must be viewed and treated as a whole person;
• Work with students, taking into account their existing level of development, needs, interests, and problems.
